Every Friday in August: Enjoy a family-friendly day at Heritage that features special activities themed around some of your favorite movies!

Every Friday in August: Enjoy a family-friendly day at Heritage that features special activities themed around some of your favorite movies showcased in CUT! Costume and the Cinema. Performances, activities, games, and family challenges make this a great start to the weekend.

Free with museum admission; Museum admission: $18 Adults 12+; $8 Youth 3-11 years; 2 and under are free; Members are free

August 5: Great Exploration Day
Inspired by the film The New World, families will enjoy Native American music, storytelling, and crafts throughout the gardens, led by members of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe. 11 am Performance: Wampanoag Nation Singers and Dancers, a lively, participatory group that will share the Native dress, culture, and music of the Wampanoag people.

August 12: Magic Meets Science Day
Inspired by the film The Prestige, families explore the magic of science as they interact at experiment stations. Using the scientific method, families will predict chemical reactions as they watch color- changing experiments happen right before their eyes. 11 am Performance: The Science of Magic by Mr. Fish, a renowned circus performer and magician who will explore the secrets of magic using magnetism, light, air, optical illusions, and much more.

August 19: Swashbuckling Day
Inspired by the Pirates of the Caribbean films, families will dance to calypso music, complete riddles, and try to find the hidden treasure! 11 am Performance: Caribbean Carnival Celebration by Taino, an exuberant performance with reggae percussion, audience sing-a-longs, and plenty of opportunities to get up on your feet and dance to festive island music.

August 26: Masquerade Day
Inspired by The Phantom of the Opera, families will be transported to the streets outside the Opera Populaireas they embark on an opera hunt, create a festive mask, and attend the masquerade ball! 11 am Performance: The Airborne Comedians, an act that began 20 years ago as a snowball juggling contest in a laundromat, and now has escalated to six- and seven-foot-high unicycles and lawn chair juggling.
