2. The Jones River Landing in Kingston is looking for volunteers to help count herring in the Jones River, from April 1 to May 31. Email fish@jonesriver.org for more information and to volunteer.
3. If you are on active duty or a veteran of the military, Liberty Tax Service, at 16 Samoset St., across from Papa Gino’s, will prepare and file your taxes free, from now through March 17. There are no hidden charges. Call Liberty at 774-773-9152 with questions.

4. The Simes House Foundation will hold a general meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, at the , at 601 State Road in Manomet. The agenda includes establishing a location for the “Charlie Brown” Christmas tree on the new village green, reports, director status, events planning, updates and other business. Members and the public are encouraged to attend.
