Iconic Manomet Landmark, The Lobster Pound, Reopens August 10th

The Lobster Pound, Plymouth’s landmark seafood market overlooking the bluff on Manomet Point (252 Manomet Point Rd), will reopen for the season under new management today, August 10th, 2026. Led by longtime friends and colleagues, Ryan Belval and Tim Mahoney, The Lobster Pound will offer live and steamed lobsters, a rotating selection of local shellfish, steamer clams, hot dogs, clam chowder, lobster rolls, ice cream by the scoop, and more. Belval and Mahoney are eager to breathe new life into the celebrated space, but plan to honor the history of the business, which has been owned and operated by the Collins family since 1963.

“Regulars of The Lobster Pound will be happy to see the same market they’ve known and loved for decades,” said Belval. “We’re having fun expanding the menu and using our oyster backgrounds to build out a raw bar program this year. But when a business has withstood the test of time for this long, it would be a crime to stray away from tradition.”

Menu items at The Lobster Pound will vary based on availability and season, but opening highlights will include:

• Live and steamed lobsters
• Local oysters
• Littleneck clams
• Mussels
• Grade A sea scallops
• Cooked steamers
• Hot dogs
• New England clam chowder
• Lobster rolls offered either cold with mayonnaise or hot with butter
• Crab roll
• Stuffed clams
• Hard scoop ice cream with various toppings

The Lobster Pound will be open Monday through Friday from 12pm-8pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 11am-8pm.
