Plymouth Man Awarded Loyal Order of Moose Fraternity Honor
Ken Miller of Plymouth was awarded the Moose Degree of Fellowship at the 75th Annual MA/RI State Moose Association Annual Convention in Nashua, NH Aug. 19-21.
The Fellowship Degree is awarded to members who have demonstrated leadership ability by giving their time and effort to serve on various Moose committees and by being a loyal, enthusiastic and active member of their Lodge. The Fellowship Degree is the third of four degrees that Moose members are eligible for. Members of the Fellowship Degree are recognized throughout the Moose organization as fraternal leaders who have earned the respect of their fellow Moose members by service to others.
Miller, a long-time member of the Plymouth Lodge, has served as an officer in the Lodge a number of times. He has also served on the Election Committee and the Nomination Committee; he has also been active as a leader in Cub Scout Pack 151, and a local Little League team.

Local Members Attend Loyal Order of Moose Massachusetts/Rhode Island Conference
Members of Plymouth Moose Lodge #2485 attended the 75th Annual Massachusetts and Rhode Island Year-End Conference of the Loyal Order of Moose Augusat 18-21 in Nashua, NH. Governor Ray Manning, and members Ken Miller and Matt Thomas represented the Plymouth Lodge; Junior Past Regent Irene Thomas, Recorder Sue Ellen Lincoln, Secretary/Treasurer Bernadette MacDonnell and member Robin Manning represented the Plymouth Chapter, Women of the Moose.
Moose lodges representing the MA/RI State Moose Association came together for this event; nearly 300 men and women members of the Moose fraternity came together for a time of networking, meetings, education and training.

Members of the Plymouth Lodge donated nearly $1,000 to various charities during the three day convention. The bulk of Plymouth's donations were to Mooseheart and Moosehaven. The Mooseheart Child City and School, founded in 1913, is a 1,000 acre community and educational facility in Chicago's far-west suburbs, built and operated for children and teens in need of a stable home. Moosehaven is a 70-acre retirement community south of Jacksonville, FL, owned and operated by the Moose fraternity for its members and their spouses. Donations were also made to Special Olympics and to Safe Surfin (an organization dedicated to protecting children, teens and even adults from internet predators).
The Loyal Order of Moose is a fraternal and service organization of men and women dedicated to caring for the young and old, bringing communities closer together and celebrating life. The , founded in 1997, has over 550 members, and the Women of the Moose Plymouth Chapter #2218 has over 250 members.
