Plymouth North Struggles In Mansfield, Falling 58-38
Plymouth North had a slow start in the 1st half and could never keep up with the Hornets.
PLYMOUTH, MA — The Plymouth North Eagles Boys basketball team traveled to Mansfield to face the undefeated Mansfield Hornets (10-0) on Monday night. The Eagles are coming off a win at Sliver Lake on Friday night.
In the 1st quarter, the Hornets started the game with the ball, with winning the coin toss. This replaces the jump ball for the 2020-21 MIAA Basketball season. The Hornets led 20-9 at the end of the 1st quarter. The 2nd quarter was not much better for Plymouth North and that they were held to scoring just 2 points in the quarter. The Hornets led 30-11 at halftime.
In the 2nd half, Plymouth North picked up the scoring in that they scored 16 points in the quarter, more than the total 1st half points. Mansfield however, kept up the pace scoring 17 in the quarter. Mansfield led 47-27 at the end of the 3rd quarter. In the 4th quarter, the game was back and forth between the two teams as they were tied 11-11 in 4th quarter scoring. Plymouth North would go on to lose to Mansfield 38-58. Mansfield will go to 11-0 and Plymouth North will fall to 6-5 for the season.

Matt Boen of Mansfield led the scoring for the team with 25 points. Jack Colby was the top rebounder for the Hornets with 11. Julian Llopiz led the scoring with 18 points in which 14 were in the 2nd half according to the Sun Chronicle.
Mansfield will travel to Stoughton on Thursday night at 6:45 pm tip off. Plymouth North will take on Quincy on Friday Night at 6:30 PM in the first round of the Patriot Cup.
