Plymouth Resident Recognized by Jimmy Fund Golf
Deborah Kennedy of Plymouth, Mass., was honored by Jimmy Fund Golf on Feb. 16, for organizing The BIG DOG Memorial Shoot Out.

More than 150 volunteer run tournaments were recognized by the Jimmy Fund on Feb. 16, at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s Yawkey Center for Cancer Care, for their commitment to the Jimmy Fund Golf Program. By organizing golf tournaments, they helped raise nearly $6.5 million in 2011 for adult and pediatric cancer care and research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute through Jimmy Fund Golf, one of the nation’s oldest and largest charity golf programs.
Recognized for their outstanding efforts are Jessica Silva and Robert Kennedy of West Wareham, and Deborah Kennedy of Plymouth, helped organize The BIG DOG Memorial Shoot Out at Sandwich Hollows Golf Club in Sandwich. The tournament was recognized for celebrating its first year with Jimmy Fund Golf.
Since 1983, Jimmy Fund Golf has taken the fight against cancer to the fairways and has raised $85 million in support of Dana-Farber Cancer Institute’s lifesaving mission. Jimmy Fund Golf is one of the nation’s oldest and largest grassroots golf program for charity that brings together hundreds of volunteers and thousands of golfers who are united in their love for the game of golf and their desire to fund cancer research.
