Plymouth South Principal Charged With DUI: Police
The Superintendent of Schools Office said it is aware of the incident and will address the personnel matter with the individual involved.
PLYMOUTH, MA —The Plymouth Superintendent of Schools Office said it will proceed in the best interest of Plymouth South High School students after the school's principal was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and causing a crash Saturday night. James Hanna, 49, faced the charges in court Monday morning.
WCVB-TV reported that Hanna pleaded not guilty to the charge that his blood-alcohol level was nearly three times the legal limit when he rear-ended another vehicle on South Street. Police said Hanna admitted to looking down at his phone at the time of the crash and that he failed a field sobriety test.
The Superintendent's Office said in a statement that it was aware of the charges and that it would address the personnel matter with the individual involved.

Hannah was ordered to surrender his license and is due back in court March 3.
