Rare Beaked Whale Washes Up at Plymouth Beach
The beaked whale rarely reaches New England; it was last seen in Duxbury in 2006.

A rarely seen beaked whale washed up on Jones Beach in Plymouth Friday.
New England Aquarium officials said they believed it was a Sowerby’s beaked whale, according to CBS Boston. The last time such a whale was spotted in New England was in 2006 in Duxbury.

The whale found Friday was a female measuring about 17 feet.
