DRAGONS TURN TO DEMERITT TO BREEZE BY THE PANTHERS. RUNNING BACK DEVIN DEMERITT ACCOUNTED FOR 3 TOUCHDOWNS AND 102 YARDS FRIDAY NIGHT IN LEADING THE GREEN DRAGONS TO A 49-12 ROAD WIN.
One isn’t looking at a high school athlete playing football, they’re seeing a college football player still in high school.
“The defense played really well,” DeMeritt said, “always helping us out and forcing three-and-outs. They’re always ready.”
DeMeritt made a strong initial move to generate space and Maimaron lofted a perfectly thrown ball that led DeMeritt right into the end zone, untouched.

DeMeritt – tacked on another score two minutes later, shimmying and shaking his way to the house from 50 yards out. He shot up the middle and bounced to the outside, bursting past multiple defenders and beating them to the pylon.

WHITMAN – The last thing you want to do is to give Duxbury High School’s football team a head start. Three turnovers in the first half doomed Whitman-Hanson on Friday night, leading to a 35-6 deficit at halftime and a 49-14 loss in each team’s Patriot League Keenan Division opener.
Devin DeMeritt’s running keyed a third-quarter scoring drive before he retired with 102 yards on nine rushes. Touchdowns by Maimaron (3-yard run) and Frankie Tower (16 yards) followed. DeMeritt is the kind of player who can break a defense’s spirits. He will get hit at the line of scrimmage, and still use his speed to leave defenders looking at the back of his jersey as he runs in the end zone, wondering what went wrong.
Duxbury’s defense recorded four sacks and two interceptions. Senior Jack Goldner had two sacks and a fumble recovery.

“Our defense played great early,” Dave Maimaron said, “and those early turnovers really helped get our offense clicking. ... Our guys did a really nice job up front all night long.”
The Dragons scored three touchdown in the first 12 minutes. DeMeritt gained 79 yards on six runs, including a 51-yard TD, before intermission. He also caught a 29-yard TD pass.
It’s really no surprise that multiple colleges are interested in DeMeritt. Last week alone Devin DeMeritt was named;
