Summer Legends Heading to Plymouth: Spire Center Announces Major Concert Lineup

Tickets for folk icons Livingston Taylor and Tom Rush, plus blues powerhouse Larry McCray, go on sale this Saturday.

The South Shore’s summer soundtrack just got a lot more legendary.

The Spire Center for the Performing Arts has announced that three iconic musicians—Livingston Taylor, Tom Rush, and Larry McCray—will take the stage at the historic Court Street venue this summer. Music fans should set their alarms early, as tickets for all three shows officially go on sale this Saturday, March 7, at 6:00 a.m.

A Season of Storytellers and Strings

The summer series kicks off on Saturday, June 27, with the return of Livingston Taylor. A master of the "meticulously crafted" song, Taylor has been a fixture of the folk and pop scene since recording his first album at 18. Known for hits like “I Will Be in Love with You” and his brother James Taylor’s recording of his song “Boatman,” Livingston is celebrated for a stage presence that blends upbeat storytelling with poignant, genre-defying ballads.

In August, the folk revival comes to Plymouth with the arrival of Tom Rush on Sunday, August 9. With a career spanning over 50 years, Rush is credited with helping shape the American folk scene and influencing greats like Garth Brooks and Tom Petty. Attendees can expect a soulful journey through classics like “No Regrets” and “Circle Game.” A limited number of VIP tickets will be available for this performance.

Rounding out the trio is acclaimed bluesman Larry McCray on Friday, August 14. McCray, who has shared the stage with the likes of B.B. King, is known for his "blistering guitar chops" and a voice soaked in the gospel and soul of his Arkansas roots. His performance promises to bring a high-energy blend of classic electric blues and southern rock fire to the heart of Plymouth.
