36 Grams Of Fentanyl Seized By Quincy Police: 2 Arrested
Police said they saw a drug deal near Waters Street and Phipps Street between a man and someone driving a Dodge Neon.

QUINCY, MA — Police seized about 36 grams of fentantyl and arrested two suspects in separate investigations over a two-day span.
On Thursday, Quincy Police's drug control unit arrested Michael Belanger, 51, of Quincy on outstanding warrants. Police said they discovered knotted bags of what they believed to be crack-cocaine.
Officers said a police dog continued picking up a "narcotic odor" on Belanger. Police said Belanger dropped additional knotted plastic bags in the back of the police cruiser. The bags weighed 15.2 grams and were confirmed to be fentanyl.

Belanger was charged with trafficking a class A drug and possession of a class B drug with the intent to distribute.
On Friday, members of the drug control unit said they witnessed a drug deal near Waters Street and Phipps Street. They said the deal happened between a man and someone driving a gray Dodge Neon.

Police said the man admitted to buying crack cocaine from a man driving the Dodge Neon. Officer Foley pulled over the driver, Leopoldo Andrade, 36, of Taunton and charged him with distributing crack-cocaine.
Police had his car towed to the station and with the help of a police dog, searched the vehicle and found 38 small knotted bags of a substance believed to be fentanyl and two knotted bags of what police believed was crack cocaine. Police said the fentayl weighed 21 grams. Police also seized about $3,900 in cash.
Andrade was charged with trafficking fentantyl, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute.
This was Andrade's second drug-related arrested. He was previously found guilty of possession of a class A drug with intent to distribute in Suffolk Superior Court.
