QUINCY, MA — Dunkin' gave four-legged customers a drive-thru experience of their own Wednesday as part of its annual partnership with dog-product company BARK.
The "Dunkin' for Dogs" event was scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Dunkin' at 588 Washington St. One drive-thru lane remained open for customers while the second offered dogs treats, limited-edition bandanas, and plush toys, available with donations to the Dunkin' Joy in Childhood Foundation.
The event marked Dunkin's first official dog drive-thru and coincided with National Dog Day.
BARK and Dunkin' also released three toys inspired by Dunkin' menu items. The collection includes a Wake-Up Wrap toy available with a $14 donation and a Strawberry Dragonfruit Refresher and doughnuts set offered with a $16 donation.
An oversized iced latte and chocolate-frosted doughnut toy is available exclusively through the BARK website with a $20 donation.
The companies' collaboration is now in its seventh year. It has generated more than $15 million for the foundation and resulted in the sale of more than 1 million dog toys, according to BARK.
"Seven years and a million toys later, this tradition has become something dog parents look forward to," BARK Vice President of Brand Marketing Dave Stangle said. "This year, dogs aren't just tagging along, they're the ones being served."
Donations support foundation programs for children experiencing illness or hunger, including Dogs for Joy, which places trained facility dogs in children's hospitals. Grants through the program have supported 54 dogs at 37 hospitals nationwide.
