The Boston Bruins have been out of the playoffs for two straight years and finally made it to the playoffs with a young team, a new coach and speed over brute force.
Although the Bruins have a long history, many people don't know that so do the Ottawa Senators - their first round opponent. The Senators [as Ottawa is the capitol of Canada] were one of the original professoinal hockey teams, founded in 1883 and stayed there until moving to St. Louis in 1934 and re-establishing themselves later in 1992. Although they haven't been overly successful for a while, they have won 11 Stanley Cups.

The Bruins still have a few fighters like Adam McQuaid, Zdeno Chara [now age 40], and Kevan Miller, but have many more quick and slicker players that a few years back in the 2011 Championship year and their Big Bad Bruins years,
The Bruins have injuries in their already weak defense which makes them underdogs but the playoffs are always fun and the Bruins young talent lends for a bright future.
