Charge Upgraded To Murder After Woman Stabs Husband In Quincy: DA

Huixian Liu's assault charge was upgraded to murder, following her husband dying from stab wounds in the hospital, prosecutors said.

QUINCY, MA — A Boston woman was held without bail Friday after fatally stabbing her husband on the Fourth of July Huixian Liu, 46, was originally charged with armed assault with intent to murder, but after her husband, Biqiang He, 55, died in the hospital Sunday, prosecutors have upgraded the charge to murder. Liu pleaded not guilty to the murder charge.

According to police, Liu fatally stabbed her husband during an argument about an illegal gambling ring the couple were operating out of a Wollastan basement, the Patriot Ledger reported. Police said the stabbing happened in front of the couple's daughter.

Shortly before 7 p.m., officers were called to the 10th block of South Central Avenue after He was stabbed, according to police. He was rushed to Boston Medical Center for surgery, but succumbed to his injuries Sunday.
