Developer Buys Former Quincy Medical Center
FoxRock Properties announced Friday that they have purchased the former hospital with a commitment to pursue medical related uses.

QUINCY, MA — The building that was once home to Quincy Medical Center now has a new owner.
FoxRock Properties announced Friday that they have purchased the former hospital with a commitment to pursue medical related uses. The company will also develop the the former Ross Parking Garage parcel at 1 Parkingway.
Along with the purchase is a commitment from Steward Health Care to continue operating an emergency room for five more years. The hospital management company that owned Quincy Medical Center closed down the hospital in 2014.

“This is an incredibly important moment for the future of both the Quincy Medical Center property and our downtown. FoxRock has the vision, experience and commitment to this community to bring appropriate medical uses to Whitwell Street and major commercial development to the downtown,” said Mayor Thomas Koch said in a statement. “I am looking forward to working closely with their team, our City Council, and the community on unlocking the potential at both sites.”
No word yet on what will go on the property. A website has been announced for further updates.
