Medford Man Charged With Trying to Rob Quincy Chipotle With Hypodermic Needle.

Police say Malik Horani of Medford attempted to rob a Chipotle with a hypodermic needle.

QUINCY, MA — A Medford man who allegedly attempted to rob a Chipotle in Quincy with a hypodermic needle has been arrested.

Malik Horani, 33, was arrested Friday and charged with attempting to commit a crime, armed robbery, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, according to the Quincy Police Department.

On Jan. 10 at about 5:39 p.m., police responded to the Newport Avenue restaurant for a report of an armed robbery. The cashier told police that a man, later identified as Horani, grabbed a bag containing his food and said told her to put all the money in the bag. The cashier stated she didn't understand the request until the male displayed a hypodermic syringe and threatened to stab her, police said. Horani fled after the manager approached him.

Horani is scheduled to be arraigned in Quincy District Court.
