Quincy Woman Hit By Car Dies

Police said the driver tried to avoid her, but couldn't and ended up in a head-on collision​ with another vehicle.

QUINCY, MA — The woman who was hit by a car Monday night, while trying to cross the street has died, according to Quincy Police.

Around 7:39 p.m., Linda Culkin, 59, of Quincy, was trying to cross at the intersection of Burgin Parkway and Granite Street. Police said the driver tried to avoid her, but couldn't and ended up in a head-on collision with another vehicle after hitting Culkin. Both drivers remained on scene and did not suffer injuries.

The woman was rushed to Boston Medical Center, but succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday. It's unclear if either driver will face charges. The crash remains under investigation.
