Quincy Woman Hit By Car In Critical Condition

After the initial crash, one of the cars involved ended up in a head-on collision.

QUINCY, MA — A 59-year-old Quincy woman is in critical condition after she was hit by a car on Monday night, according to police. After the initial crash, one of the cars involved ended up in a head-on collision, while trying to avoid the woman.

At 7:39 p.m., police received several 911 calls about a crash involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Burgin Parkway and Granite Street. When emergency personnel arrived, they discovered two vehicles involved in a head-on collision and a woman that was struck right before the crash. The drivers of both vehicles involved in the crash remained on scene.

Both vehicles were driving on Burgin Parkway and had a green light, according to police. Prior to the head-on collision, police said the woman, stepped off the sidewalk and tried to cross the street, but then she was hit by one of the cars.

The woman was rushed to Boston Medical Center and remains in critical condition.

It's unclear if either driver will face charges. The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call Quincy Police at 617-745-5824.
