QUINCY, MA — Police are looking for a homeless man with ties to Rockland who they say nearly ran over two officers while fleeing an alleged drug deal.
Christopher Range, 29, is wanted for two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, failure to stop for police, red light violation, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and reckless operation of a motor vehicle. He also has an active probation warrant, according to the Quincy Police Department.
On Dec. 6, police responded to a possible drug deal at the Quincy Center train station. When they arrived, two officers observed the three people inside a silver Pontiac Grand Prix engage an alleged drug transaction with a male pedestrian, police said. As officers approached the vehicle, the driver of the vehicle, identified as Range, put the car in reverse and backed out of the parking spot. Range was ordered to stop the vehicle, but as he attempted to exit the parking lot of the train station, he accelerated the vehicle and turned towards two offices. Police say both were nearly struck and barely escaped injury. The vehicle then exited the parking lot and failed to stop for the red light at Hancock Street and Russell Park.
