Beverly Manhunt Subject Has Reading Address

BEVERLY, MA — The man who sparked a manhunt on the North Shore and prompted the lockdown of a hospital and high school is from Reading, according to police.

Charles Dixon has an Archstone Circle address on a Most Wanted posting released by Beverly Police. Dixon, 32, is wanted on outstanding warrant charges of witness intimidation, threats to kill, and violation of a 209A restraining order.

Part of Beverly shut down Wednesday afternoon when officers received word that Dixon was in the area of Hilltop Drive near the residence of a domestic violence incident from the over the weekend. Beverly Hospital was under lockdown "out of an abundance of caution," Beverly Police Officer Mike Boccuzzi said. Beverly High School was under lockdown as well.

The search started around 4:30 p.m. and was called off at 7:30 p.m. Police are still searching for Dixon.
