Bring Requests to Four Guys in Tuxes

Four Guys In Tuxes will celebrate its return to Reading by bringing an extra band member.

If you plan to attend the Four Guys in Tuxes concert at Town Hall Sunday night, bring your song requests.

G. Andrew Manes, founder of Four Guys in Tuxes, said he plans to perform the show with as many requested songs as possible, and if he runs out, he may ask a member of the crowd what they want to hear.

"I encourage them to write [their requests] down ahead of time," Manes said. "That which we can do, we will."

If it's something the group can't do, he said, it will do the best it can – though Manes said those requesting rap or heavy metal songs would probably be out of luck.

Manes said the group boasts a broad and deep portfolio, and frequently surprises the audience with the selection it performs. As listeners realize how much music the band knows, he said, they pepper requests – often asking for 60 minutes of music when the band only has 30 minutes left to perform.

To prevent this, he suggests the audience hand in their requests before the show starts and let the group will assemble a program.

Four Guys in Tuxes has performed in Reading before, Manes said. For many years, the group performed annually, but Reading's "Touch of Class Family Concerts" series widened its portfolio and started calling on Manes' group less frequently.

To celebrate the group's return, Manes said he decided to bring an extra band member, making Sunday's Four Guys in Tuxes show a sextet.
