Reading, Like Challenges? Turn Your Favorite Book Into a Cake
March 1 deadline approaching to enter Reading Library's Baking For Friends Fundraiser

As events go, this one takes the cake. But the clock is ticking and you only have until March 1 to sign up.
The first annual Baking For Friends Fundraiser will be held on April 1st at the Reading Public Library. This is an event in which baking-loving readers and reading-loving bakers can create a book-themed baking display which will be exhibited from 9-5 on Saturday, April 1. Families, scout troops, sports teams, book groups and anyone else who loves to bake is welcome to try their hand at creating something fabulous inspired by their favorite book. A Harry Potter cake? Go for it.
If you are interested in baking, sign up forms are available at the Reading Library circulation desk and on the Friend’s website, www.friendsofreadingpl.org. The public is invited to view the displays and are encouraged to purchase a ticket which will gain access to several baking-themed demonstrations throughout the day, as well as baking themed story time sessions for children. You may even be able to take a cake home. Tickets will include five raffle tickets which will allow participants to enter to win their favorite cake display.
