Coolidge Middle School presents Beauty and the Beast, Jr.

Reading, MA: Coolidge Middle School drama presents Beauty and the Beast, Jr on Friday, January 13th and Saturday, January 14th at 7:30pm and on Sunday, January 15th at 2:00 pm at Reading Memorial High School Performing Arts Center.

For many weeks 82 students have prepared for the musical production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Jr. The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity. Dancing flatware, menacing wolves, and singing furniture fill the stage with music and magic in this beloved fairy tale. Featuring original music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, the enchanting Beauty and the Beast Jr. is perfect for the young and the young at heart alike. For those attending the Sunday matinee, be sure to stay for the character meet and greet immediately following the show. Belle, the Beast, and all of their friends will be available to meet their fans.

Directed by Lori Loussedes and Stephen MacDonald with musical direction by Anna Wentlent and choreography by Lindsey McGovern, the musical is based on the original Broadway production and Disney’s animated feature film “Beauty and the Beast”.

Location: Tickets will be sold at RMHS box office on January 5th & 12th from 5:00-6:00 pm, and January 9th and 10th from 5:30-6:30 pm. Tickets are also available at the door on show days an hour before show until curtain.
