EMARC & MARATHON SPORTS TEAM UP FOR 22nd ANNUAL 5K IN MELROSE

5k walk & run will be held on Sunday, September 11th, funds will go to EMARC to support programs for those with developmental disabilities

EMARC is once again partnering with Marathon Sports for its 22nd Annual 5K on Sunday, September 11th at 10 a.m. in Melrose. Funds raised go to support individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. The race begins and ends at the Melrose Family YMCA located at 497 Main Street in Melrose. Runners and walkers can register online at www.emarc5k.com. In addition to online registration, forms are also available at all Marathon Sports store locations. Registration fees are $30 for the 5K ($35 after September 1st).

The race starts off at 9:40 am with a Kids “Fun Run” (short distance). Suggested donation for Kid’s Run is $5 per child or free with an adult registrant. The 5K for runners starts at 10:00 a.m., walkers 10:05 a.m.

The 5K is professionally timed and awards are presented after the race in front of the Melrose Victorian Fair stage.

After 21 years, we are anticipating yet another successful 5K to bring even more participants than last years’ 400! EMARC’s Director of Development, Amy O’Brien states “This is already turning out to be an amazing event!” Local businesses can also get involved through our sponsorship opportunities.
