The holidays are filled with the wonder of family, friends and music! To make your holidays bright, Reading Community Singers is presenting “Make a Joyful Noise!”, on Saturday evening, December 3 at 7:30 PM and again at 4:00 on Sunday afternoon, December 4. Both concerts of holiday favorites will be at the Old South United Methodist Church, 6 Salem Street (corner of Rte 28 and Rte 129) in Reading. Please join us in this traditional start to our 92nd holiday season. There may even be a visit from some “Special Visitors”, so bring your cameras!
This year’s musical selections include favorite carols and popular music for Christmas and Hanukkah, conducted by Beth Mosier and performed by the 70+ member Reading Community Singers accompanied by Joe Beninati. There will be a holiday sing-along and audience members are invited to join us on stage in singing the Halleluia Chorus. We have a special treat in store too. At Sunday’s performance, RCS will be recording our first Holiday CD!
This year’s guest artists are Old South UMC Brass and Organ, a dedicated, enthusiastic group of talented members and friends of Old South United Methodist Church who have come together through the sheer joy of playing brass and organ music composed for a small group. Members Art Zavarella (trumpet), Henry Marcy (cornet), Terry Rawlins (trombone), Alex Lachmayr (bass trombone), Richard Smith (tuba) and Susan Holloway (organist and Music Director, Old South UMC)will delight you with a variety of Holiday selections. We are also excited to have flutist Brittany Bauman, violinist Marsten Parker and members of KidSing, a new children’s’ show choir, join RCS for several wonderful numbers.
