
Evans W. Waldron, Sr., 93, of Wilmington, formerly of Reading, passed away at his home on Saturday evening, July 1. He was the husband of Alice (McDonald) Waldron.
Born in Beverly, he was the son of the late Carroll Charles Waldron, and the late Grace A. (Tilton) Waldron. Evans was a United States Army Veteran of World War II. He served with the 55th Weather Reconnaissance Squadron of the Army Air Corps. He earned his Honorable Discharge at the rank of Corporal in 1946.
Evans was a graduate of Northeastern University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Management. He worked for Transitron Electronic Corporation in Wakefield, Analog Devices in Wilmington, Teradyne in Cambridge and as a realtor prior to retiring in 1989.

Evans was a member of the Essex County Beekeepers Association, the Massachusetts Fruit Growers Association, the First Congregational Church of Reading and the Aleppo Shriners in Wilmington.
Throughout his lifetime Evans enjoyed spending time on Bow Lake in Strafford, NH with his parents, siblings, wife, children and their families. After returning from the service, he purchased a lake front lot on Bow Lake, inherited an adjoining lot and built a summer cottage. Later in life after their retirement Evans and Alice enjoyed spending winters at their home in Naples, Florida.

In addition to Alice, his wife of 70 years, Evans is survived by one son, Evans W. Waldron, Jr. and his wife Beth of Charlton; and two daughters, Pamela delPozo-Waldron and her wife Bobbie of Derry, NH, and Wendy Piacenza and her husband Carl of Chelmsford. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Jennifer Consiglio and her husband Ken of Worcester, Phillip W. Waldron of Providence, RI, Stephanie Piacenza of Brooklyn, NY, Alexa Piacenza of Somerville, Amanda Bartlett and her husband Jason of Danvers, and Gabriel Posner and his wife Rajni of San Francisco, CA.
A memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church, 25 Woburn St., Reading on Sunday, July 30th at 1:00 PM. Private burial will take place in Northwood, New Hampshire at a later date.
