Honor Frank and Donate To Veteran's Fund
Frank Driscoll was custodian of soldiers' and sailors' graves in town.

A Letter to the Editor from Bill Brown:
This Memorial Day many of you came to Reading's cemeteries to pay your respects to those that have served our nation and our town and now rest in peace, their graves honored with a marker, flag, and a flower.
What you did not see is the work that made it possible. In the Sunday obituary the name Frances P. Driscoll from Reading appeared. It listed him as a Vietnam Marine and a retired Reading Fire Fighter. What it did not say that "Frankie" was also the Custodian of Soldiers and Sailors' graves. As such it was under his direction a small cadre made sure that each and every veteran in a Reading cemetery was honored. Over the more than 25 years the week began on Tuesday night and ended on Saturday, after he checked and checked one more.

His family asked that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to the Veteran's Memorial Fund. Frank was very instrumental in establishing the fund when the town would not fund it due to budget cuts years ago.
I ask you to honor Frank and his love of his fellow veterans and donate to the fund as I will. Frank, it has been my honor to have known and worked with you, even if you were a Marine.
