Irene Collins promoted to Vice President of Marketing and Communications of the YMCA of Greater Boston

The YMCA is pleased to announce the promotion of North Reading resident Irene Collins to Vice President of Marketing and Communications.

The YMCA of Greater Boston is pleased to announce the promotion of North Reading resident Irene Collins to Vice President of Marketing and Communications.

A YMCA veteran, Collins was most recently the Executive Director of the Burbank YMCA in Reading. During her four years at the Burbank branch, Collins grew membership, engaged an active and effective Board of Advisors who increased the branch annual campaign to more than $200,000 per year to deepen the Y’s impact in the communities it served.

Collins was named “Rookie of the Year” by the Association for YMCA Professionals in 2013. She serves on the Massachusetts Early Education and Care Advisory committee and was recently recognized by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women as an “Unsung Heroine of 2016” for her service to the community.

Prior to her position at the Burbank YMCA, Collins was Executive Director of the Reading-North Reading Chamber of Commerce where she represented local businesses in government affairs and developed strategic communications and marketing campaigns to promote buying locally. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications from Western Michigan University.
