About Sports Zone 101

Sports Zone 101 is a new program for kids helping them to become engaged in the learning process through their love of sports.  The curriculum touches upon areas of math, history, geography, and public speaking in such fun a way, that kids don't realize they are learning essential skills!  Children, for example, learn how to calculate batting averages, learn who Babe Ruth, Wayne Gretzky, Larry Bird, and Dan Marino are, learn how to write letters to baseball, basketball, hockey, and football athletes, learn how to keep score of a sports game, and understand the rules of various sports.

Another exciting aspect of The Sports Zone is that it offers an opportunity for children to meet professional athletes at local events.  Children receive special prizes that include baseball cards and memorabilia during the class, and the class is filmed and appears on television in Winchester and surrounding communities.

This program is taught by Nick Face and Andrew Duval, hosts and producers of a local sports talk show in Reading, Massachusetts called "Face the Facts."   For more information, contact them at thesportszone101@gmail.com.
