Like Last Override Attempt, This One Warrants a NO Vote

Writer convinced not enough has changed with local government since last override nor resident survey afterwards to deter him from NO vote.

If you voted NO on the last override attempt in October 2016, or are undecided on how to vote on the override tomorrow, I suggest a reread of the Selectman's Survey from August 2017, in particular Question 3 and its 'raw' comments. This will convince committed NO voters on the override they are making the right decision tomorrow, as not enough has changed with our local government since the last override vote nor the survey. For undecideds, I think it will help you understand why the NO vote on the override won almost 60/40 in October 2016, and a NO vote is the best position to take on April 3.

I still firmly believe a majority of Reading voters don't want to face an almost 9% increase in their property taxes for the fiscal year beginning July 1. They also don't like that the passage of the override will add $4.15 million to our tax base that will increase our taxes in all future years to come.

Remember polls are open tomorrow at the RMHS Field House from 7 am to 8 pm.

As a final cheer to the NO voters, I offer this Winston Churchill quote:
