On Memorial Day, Tributes Start With Parade at 9 a.m.

Services will be held at town's four cemeteries, starting at 9:15 at Laurel Hill.

Reading's Memorial Day program begins with the annual parade at 9 a.m.

The Monday parade starts at the American Legion Post on Ash Street, heads to Main Street, and ends at the Laurel Hill Cemetery for the first of four services.

At Laurel Hill, the Reading Memorial High School band will play the national anthem and residents will hear from speakers including Select Board chairman Barry Berman, and Gold Star Father Arthur MacDonald.

At 10:45, services will be held at Forest Glen Cemetery, starting with the national anthem played by RMHS Horn Ensemble. The invocation will be given by Father Darin Colarusso, St. Athanasius, USAF.

At 11:30, services move to the Charles Lawn Cemetery where the Memorial Day Address will be given by Select Board member Andrew Friedmann. The Roll Call of Honor will be done by Jill Mayberry USAF.

The final service of the day starts at noon at the Wood End Cemetery. Select Board member Vanessa Alvarado will give the Memorial Day Address and taps will be played by the RMHS Horn Ensemble.

In addition to the services, residents are invited to the Pleasant Street Senior Center Monday to view the Tribute Walls, called "Faces of Remembrance." Viewing is between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

In the event of bad weather, all events will take place at the American Legion Post on Ash Street.
