Memory Tree Lights up Pleasant Street Center This Year
Annual Reading Garden Club Memory Tree Lighting
This year’s Reading Garden Club Memory Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place on the patio at the Pleasant Street Center on Sunday, December 7 at 4pm. The Memory Tree Lighting Ceremony is an important part of the town’s annual holiday festivities. We invite everyone to join us in this time of remembrance and celebration by sponsoring a “light” for the tree. The names of the sponsors and the individuals and events being honored are read aloud during the ceremony, followed by the dramatic lighting of the tree. The Colonial Chorus Players as well as a saxophonist will be providing music.
Forms for sponsoring “lights,” which are $5.00 each, are available at the Burbank YMCA, the Pleasant Street Center and at www.readinggardenclub.org. Completed forms may be mailed to: Reading Garden Club, PO Box 434, Reading, MA 01867. Forms must be received by December 2. Special thanks to the Reading DPW for their help with this event. All proceeds from this event are used to support the Reading Garden Club’s mission to encourage an active interest in horticulture and conservation among the amateur gardeners in the community and to further the knowledge of beautifying town and home. The Reading Garden Club is a member of the Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts (Middlesex District) and National Garden Clubs, Inc. (New England Region).
