My Comment: Homework First, Opinions Second

Selectmen's survey filled with comments directed at schools. But do you really understand what's going on in Reading?

There's a lot to learn and understand between now and the expected April override vote in Reading.

If you believe the comments released Nov. 30 in the Selectmen's survey, a lot of residents think there are issues with the schools, specifically with Superintendent John Doherty. So here's some homework for all you get-rid-of-Doherty folks. Read this link and make sure you understand what's going on with the town budget, more specifically with the schools. It's a power-point from November's Budget Liaison Presentation and while it may not be a great read, it's certainly a necessary one.

If you already have looked at it, great. If not, take some time and read it. There's no rush, but when asked in April if you did your homework, you'll want to say yes.
