New Reading Public Library Director Announced
The new director was promoted from her current position of interim library director.

READING, MA — The Reading Public Library will continue under the leadership of Amy Lannon, as the current interim library head was selected as the library's permanent director Tuesday. According to an announcement from the Reading Board of Library Trustees, Lannon was named the library's new director Tuesday after a five-month interim period.
“Amy has deep library leadership and technology experience, and has done an excellent job in the Interim Director/Assistant Director role with the transition to the new library," said Board Chair John Brezenski in a statement."She knows the Reading community well and will be able to hit the ground running as we move forward with the library’s strategic plan.”
Lannon has worked with the Reading Public Library for 13 years, and previously worked as a law librarian in Boston. She has managed a $20,000 federally funded "Teens and Tweens" grant, developing and maintaining the library's website, and overseeing both library moves to 80 General Way in 2014 and the return to 64 Middlesex Avenue this past October.
