North Reading Man, 23, Killed in Overnight Crash in Andover

The accident remains under investigation

A North Reading man is dead after an overnight three-car crash on Interstate 93 south, according to authorities.

The accident occurred just before 1 Friday morning on I-93 south near the area of Exit 41.

Massachusetts State Police Trooper Nicholas Neczypyr investigated the crash.

A 23-year-old man was traveling on Route 93 south prior to Exit 41 in a 2004 Chevrolet Impala when he rear-ended a 2004 Toyota Corolla operated by Connor Weed, 26, of Malden, according to state police. Following this initial crash, the Impala became disabled in the right travel lane, according to state police, and was subsequently struck by 2014 Lexus IS250 driven by Justin Wong, 24, of Brookline.

The operator of the Impala, Kenneth McGregor, 23, of North Reading, was pronounced dead at the scene. Wong and Weed did not suffer injuries in the crash, according to state police.

The cause of this crash remains under investigation with the assistance of the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section. Also assisting at the scene were Andover Fire and EMS and Mass Department of Transportation.
