Portion of Main Street Closed This Weekend

A portion of Main Street will be closed Friday night into Saturday for a crosswalk replacement, the Town of Reading announced.

Main Street will be closed at Haven Street in both directions, weather permitting, from 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, to 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1. RAE Contracting will be replacing a brick crosswalk at the corner of Haven.

Access to business and residences north of Haven Street will be possible via Woburn Street, while access south of Haven Street will be possible via Washington Street.

Also, on Monday, Oct. 3, from 4:00 a.m. to 10 a.m., Main St. at Haven St. will be reduced to one lane. Traffic will be alternated one lane at a time. Commuter traffic is expected to be affected.
