Lou Spagnola announced his candidacy for the Northeast Regional Vocational School Committee representing the Revere. Mr. Spagnola released the following statement to the media.
“I am running for School Committee because I am a concerned taxpayer. As a proud resident of Revere, the economic well-being of Revere and all the respective feeder cities and towns that send students to Northeast are threatened by the lack of oversight on the decision making process and ultimately how money is spent. All too often I have found myself frustrated at the amount of taxpayer money spent by Northeast on line items that are unwanted, unnecessary, and not in furtherance of its mission to provide our students with 21st century employability skills. In addition, Northeast is lobbying for a new school at the taxpayers expense. The School Committee needs new members who are willing to refocus the Northeast administration on the mission of educating students in a transparent manner. If I am elected to the School Committee, I will do exactly that.”
The Northeast School District includes the cities and towns of Chelsea, Saugus, Malden, Stoneham, Melrose, Wakefield, North Reading, Winchester, Reading, Winthrop, Revere and Woburn. The election for the Northeast School Committee will take place on November 8, 2016. For more information, please visit http://louspagnola.com or https://www.facebook.com/spagnolaforschoolcommittee/
