Reading Begins Early Voting On Oct. 22

Early voting offers a more flexible and convenient option for residents to vote in the election.

A release from the Town of Reading:

Town Clerk Laura Gemme announced Tuesday that her office is ready for the Nov. 6 State Election with Early Voting, Absentee Ballots, and registering to vote.

Town Manager Bob LeLacheur stated that “Early voting offers a more flexible and convenient option for
residents to vote in the election and we offer it right in Town Hall during regular and selected extended
business hours.”

Early voting begins Monday, Oct. 22 and runs through Friday, Nov. 2. Residents are advised to check the Town’s website for date-specific hours, which are also printed below.

Monday, Oct. 22 - 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Tuesday, Oct. 23 - 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 24 - 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Thursday, Oct. 25 - 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Friday, Oct. 26 - Closed

Saturday, Oct. 27 - 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Sunday, Oct. 28 - Closed

Monday, Oct. 29 - 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Tuesday, Oct. 30 - 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 31 - 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Thursday, Nov. 1 - 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Friday, Nov. 2 – 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

For residents that will be out of town, Absentee Ballots are already available in the Town Clerk’s office
and will be available until Monday, Nov. 5, 2018 at noon. Residents wishing to vote by Absentee
Ballot should come to the Clerk’s office during normal business hours. Applications for an absentee
ballot are available on the town website at: readingma.gov/elections.

Residents new to Reading, or new to voting, should know that there is still limited time left to register to
vote. The last day to register to vote in the Nov. 6 election is Oct. 17th. Those wishing to register to vote can do so at the Town Clerk’s office during normal business hours, noting that Town Hall is closed on Fridays. Sample ballots may also be viewed on the Town website at: readingma.gov/elections/pages/sample-ballots .
