Reading Civic Concert Band to play "The Sound of Art"

Reading Civic presents: WORLD TOUR 12 Countries in 60 minutes - with contests and prizes Silent Auction of 20 rare ethnic instruments

This Sunday, May 10th, the Reading Civic Concert Band presents “World Tour”, a sampling of ballads, dances, marches, and symphonic works from 12 countries. At the same time, a silent auction will feature 24 unusual ethnic musical instruments collected from all over the globe. The program will also involve the audience in the form of an interactive travelogue, with contests and prizes for the most astute auditory tourists.

The concert starts at 3:00pm at the Wood End School Auditorium, at 85 Sunset Rock Lane, in Reading. The doors will open at 2:30 for people who wish to review the silent auction instruments, (listings are available now at ReadingConcertBand.org).

Admission at the door is $12, ($8 for seniors and students) - and children 8 years and under are free. RCCB is a non-profit band of 30 volunteers from all over the North Shore. Concert admission goes to the cost of the sheet music, production expenses and rentals, etc. Contest prizes are sponsored by local businesses, and the band’s rehearsal home is the First Congregational Church of Reading, at 25 Woburn Street.
