Reading Commission to Call Public Meeting on Marijuana Legalization: Report
While voters statewide approved marijuana legalization, Reading residents voted in opposition of the measure.

READING, MA — While voters statewide may have voted in favor of Question 4 to legalize the recreational use of marijuana, voters in Reading voted in opposition of the question.
Under instruction by the Reading Board of Selectmen, the Reading Community and Development Commission will be calling a public meeting to discuss a bylaw change in light of Question 4's passage, reports Wicked Local Reading. Statewide, voters approved the measure but Reading residents voted against it by a count of 8,353 opposed to 6,800 in favor.
Currently, a town bylaw prohibit the commercialization of marijuana and allows only for medical facilities.
