Reading Public Schools Seeking Solution for Insufficient Classroom Space

Reading Public Schools created the Early Childhood Education Space Needs Working Group to secure more classrooms.

The Early Childhood Education Space Needs Working Group is scouting for more preschool and kindergarten classroom space in Reading, but first it needs more members.

The group was reinstated in June as a subcommittee of the Reading School Committee.

The committee is seeking eight community members and parents to join. At least two of the members must be Town Meeting members.

Strategies to improve the space situation include a possible Geotechnical study and a traffic study at Oakland Road. The group also plans to create ways to receive communication and feedback from the community.

The group will present these proposals to Town Meeting once a plan of action is decided. All group meetings will be open to the public.
