Refugees, No Where to Go
The discussion will include a primer on immigration and refugee international law especially as relevant to our present humanitarian crisis.
If you have been morally confused about our refugee crisis and uncertain about what you can do to help, you are invited to join a two -session study group on the subject. The PowerPoint presentation was recently offered at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Tufts University which is a non-credit program for mainly retirees. It was well-received. The first session concentrates on the dilemma in Europe; the second, highlights our situation in the U.S..
At our event, discussion is encouraged as we decide whether to close our borders and go into lock-down or open our doors to all-comers. Is there something in between? How does our Judeo/Christian faith help us to form our decision? Come join us to work out our understanding of this humanitarian crisis with no easy answers.
The event will take place at the St. Agnes Reading, parish center in Reading, MA. on two consecutive Tuesdays: March 7th and 14th beginning at 7 p.m. and ending by 8:30 p.m. The event is free and open to all comers. Contact Ron D’Addario with any questions or concerns at (781) 439-9146 or at daddario43@gmail.com. I hope to see you there.
