Sanborn Place Celebrates Project Progress, Plans for Further Improvements

Sanborn Place celebrated the completion of a recent expansion Thursday.

The project included the an addition to the facility’s community room as well as the renovation of 26 units, which will now better allow residents to “age in place comfortably.”

At a gathering that included State Rep. Brad Jones and State Sen. Katherine Clark, Sanborn Place CEO Jacquie Carson thanked those who supported the project.

“I personally want to thank many of you for your time and devoted patience,” Carson said. “We have most recently submitted for additional HUD ALCP grant funding to further our renovations of Peter Sanborn. Early this week a grant for additional 202 funding was completed and submitted for the expansion of Sanborn Place. We will keep our fingers crossed. The 202 will provide for 30 additional low income units and with the assist from MassHousing our plan is for additional moderate and market rate apartment homes.”
