If you read the article on the patch this morning you have to ask yourself who is making these crazy regulations? The cities and towns can barely afford to replace a street sign when stolen or knocked down by an accident and the government wants to replace UPPER CASE street signs to lower case street signs just because.
You have to ask yourself is this crazy? Let's layoff teachers and policeman but we need to spend the money to replace a street sign that has nothing wrong with it.
This is another reason why the over ride should not be given a second chance because the money will filter down to do silly things like replacing street signs. Ask yourself is the street sign on the corner of your street worth $100.00 as stated in the article? That does not include the installation by one of our highly esteemed DPW workers. Do you think they will go out and get a competitive bid to buy street signs? I doubt it.

I hope Reading bucks the street sign regulation and sticks with what we have and put the money towards things the town needs.
So before you vote for the next over ride ask yourself the question what's wrong with the street signs? Have you ever got lost because you were not able to read the UPPER CASE street sign?
