Reading’s Subsequent Town Meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10 and Thursday , Nov. 13 in the Reading Memorial High School Performing Arts Center
As there are some Articles that have generated a lot of discussion in the community, town officials want to ensure
that all Members understand the expected schedule for this Town Meeting.
Two articles in particular - numbers 8 and 9 - needed to be scheduled time/date-certain because of the traveling schedules for some folks involved. Town officials expect to commence with Article 1 reports and hear from RMLD, the schools, the Charter Review Committee, and the Bylaw Committee about the Permanent Building Committee progress, and the Finance Committee on Monday.

That will be followed by brief presentations on Articles 2 through 6. The evening will conclude with Article 9 – the proposed Summer Avenue Historic District.
On Thursday Nov. 13, town meeting members will take up Article 7 and Article 8, a comprehensive zoning overhaul.

If time allows the meeting may conclude that evening with a move to indefinitely postpone Article 10.
If time does not allow, town meeting members will continue the discussion on Article 8 on Monday Nov. 20.
In particular town officials want to make sure the community is aware that Article 9 will be discussed on Monday,
and Article 8 will be discussed on Thursday.
