Time Remains To Buy Tickets For Library's 2018 House Tour
Friends of the Reading Public Library feature nine Reading homes that have been transformed.

A release from the Friends of the Reading Public Library:
With one week to go, tickets are still available for The Friends of the Reading Public Library's 2018 House Tour. This year’s tour is Sunday, May 6, from 1-5 p.m. and features nine homes that capture what makes Reading special. Homes notable for their age, style, size and yes, shape. All have been transformed in one way or another — whether to accommodate a lifestyle transition to “one-floor” living, restore an historic home to its original splendor, or incorporate contemporary updates to a classic style.
Walk through Reading’s past when you visit three homes listed on the National Register of Historic Places — the William Parker House, the Chute House (later called the Carter Mansion) and Wisteria Lodge. And take in
contemporary Reading when you visit two homes built in 2015. Throughout the tour, you’ll also see how many homeowners extended their vision outside as well. Where there once was a driveway or walkway now
stands a stately fountain, detailed stone patio, tiered garden or spectacular landscaping that can be admired all year long.

Thank you to all the families who graciously opened their homes to help support our award-winning library. We are also grateful to our advertisers, many who live and work in our community. We encourage you to patronize them. And thank you for your generous support as well. Proceeds from the House Tour help fund programs at the library that transform so many lives in our community.
Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 the day of the tour and are available at the library, Whitelam Books, and the Hitching Post.
