• Rockland Joins 12-Town Hazardous Waste Depot for $2,400 a Year, With an October Deadline to Save It (southshore.news subscription) — Rockland's Select Board has voted to join a 12-town agreement for a permanent hazardous waste depot at Hanover's transfer station, adding about $2,400 a year to the town's costs. If all 12 towns don't sign by mid-October, the project dies, so residents' future disposal options and potential copay fees will hinge on those remaining approvals.
