2016 New England Revolution Schedule Published in Braille by National Braille Press of Boston

The National Braille Press (NBP) announced today that it has published braille schedules for the New England Revolution's 2016 season

The National Braille Press (NBP) announced today that it has published braille schedules for the New England Revolution’s 2016 season. This is the first season that the Revolution, one of Major League Soccer’s (MLS) original clubs in Foxborough, Massachusetts, will have schedules available in braille. The schedules feature the dates and times of the games scheduled for the club’s 2016 season, which kicked off in March 2016. Fans can acquire a braille Revolution schedule that includes all 34 regular-season scheduled games from the Perkins School for the Blind, the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind or from the New England Revolution.

“Many in the blind and visually impaired community are big fans of professional soccer and, especially here in New England, they are fans of the Revolution,” said Brian MacDonald, President of the National Braille Press. “We are happy to provide braille schedules to them so that they have all the information they need for the Revolution’s games throughout the season.”

One of the biggest Revolution fans is NBP Board Member Paul Parravano. “As a blind person, I have worked hard to learn all about soccer, one of the fastest and most challenging games on earth. Both my daughters played lots of soccer, with one becoming a very accomplished player. I follow lots of soccer now, and having ready access to the Revolution schedule in Braille is a huge treat for me,” said Parravano. “For years I received braille schedules for other sports, but never soccer. I’m ready to drop all those other schedules now in favor of just this one. I’m really grateful to the New England Revolution for making this information available to me in a format that raises my level of independence, and connection with this beautiful game.”
