Roslindale Resident Attorney Ted Folkman of Murphy & King to Participate in 50th Anniversary of Hague Convention

Murphy & King shareholder Ted Folkman, Roslindale resident, will participate in the 50th anniversary of the 1965 Hague Service Convention and the 45th anniversary of the Hague Evidence Convention at a one-day conference on Nov. 2, 2015 at Georgetown University Law Center. The theme of the conference is “Service of Process and Taking of Evidence Abroad: The Impact of Electronic Means” on the Operation of the Hague Conventions.”

Folkman will participate on the panel “How We Got Where We Are: The Conventions in Theory and Practice.” The panel will also include: Peter Trooboff, moderator, Covington & Burling, Washington, D.C., Louise Ellen Teitz, Roger Williams School of Law, Bristol, R.I., Mathieu Chardon, Huissier, International Union of Judicial Officers, Paris, and Alejandro Manevich, Rickett Harris, Toronto.

Folkman concentrates his practice in business litigation and in transnational civil litigation. He has appeared in federal courts throughout the United States and has argued cases at all levels of the Massachusetts court system. He has represented businesses in industries from health care to private equity to property management, government agencies, and individuals with complex problems. Folkman is a frequent writer and speaker on civil procedure and other topics and is the author of Letters Blogatory, a blog covering international judicial assistance and private international law.
