Roxbury Latin Students from Roslindale Shine in Globe Scholastic Art Awards
Two Roslindale residents and Roxbury Latin students earned recognition for their talents in painting and photography in the Boston Globe Scholastic Art Awards.
Zachary Bennett-Engler and Nathan Leach, both Roxbury Latin students and Roslindale residents, were recently recognized in the Boston Globe Scholastic Art Awards.
Zach, a junior, received a Silver Key Award in the Painting category for his The Cat’s Meow (based on another painting), and Nathan, a senior, also earned a Silver Key Award in the Photography category for his Sarah.
In total, more than 13,000 pieces of artwork from students across Massachusetts were submitted in 13 categories. Judges chose to celebrate exceptional work with the award categories of Gold Key, Silver Key, and Honorable Mention. All individual work recognized with a Gold Key and Silver Key award will be on view and open to the public in the Massachusetts Transportation Building, 10 Park Plaza, in Boston. The exhibit will be open from Monday, February 11 to Friday, April 19, with a special exhibit and awards presentation on Sunday, March 3.
